I’m the Technology & Development Director at Happy Cog West and publish EE Insider and the ExpressionEngine screencasts. Occasionally, I have something to say at my personal blog.

Hailing from the great state of New Jersey, I now reside in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Like many others, my home screen is a collection of the apps I use the most. There is some thinking behind the placement of some of the apps, but not all. For example, the iPod app is located top right because that is the most comfortable way for me to access my music while my iPhone is connected in the car. My most used apps are in the dock with the row above it also getting heavy use.

Every few months I demote or promote an app and update my home screen. Possible promotions right now include Ember, Ramp Champ and iBank.

Some selected apps:

• Simplenote - This is my central dumping ground for ideas and short writings. It syncs with the Simplenote web app, which I have running on my laptop as a Fluid app. My wife and I share this for various lists and notes. I wrote this entire text in Simplenote.
• OmniFocus  - This is still the most expensive iPhone app I’ve purchased but it’s an integral part of my everyday life. It syncs with MobileMe and then to OmniFocus on my laptop.
• Remote  - The latest version from Apple is very slick and it’s the only way I interface with my Apple TV.
