Even though the iPhone isn’t an especially good productivity device, that’s what I tend to use it for since I refuse to carry multiple phones. So in terms of the dock, the iPod had to go; between it and the bottom row, I’ve got most of what I need to get down to business, including: Ember, the one, only, and overpriced Campfire client (what I use to keep in touch with the team when I’m out), Twitter search (to see what people are saying, especially about gdgt), and NNW for staying connected to the gadget world when I’m running around.

Apps you’re not seeing on my home screen, but that I would get in there if I had another row or two, are: Cell Tracker, Convert, Flickr, PhoneFlicks, Shazam, Slydial, Tripit, and WhatTheFont (among others). I’m also really getting into the 3GS’s Voice Control. It’s not really an app the way these other apps are, um, apps, but I’d use it much more if that could be triggered from an icon instead of holding the home button for a few seconds.
