I’ve been using the iPhone since day one, and it has truly changed the way I do things. How did I survive without Google Maps in my pocket? The apps on my dock will never change. Tapping those has become muscle memory, and I’m OCD about keeping those in the default order. Also, I like having one blank slot on my home screen. I know, it’s weird. Here is a rundown of the third party apps I use:
Yelp — I just moved to Austin and have been using this to locate places to eat. It’s all about the yummy foodz.
Facebook — I prefer the iPhone version of FB to the website.
Tweetie — Solid, well designed Twitter client. I’m a fan of the “dark” theme.
Gowalla — THE BEST IPHONE APPLICATION EVER MADE. I’m a bit biased since it’s what I work on every day. It’s a great app for discovering new places, sharing places you go, and seeing what your friends are doing. If you have an iPhone, you should already have Gowalla installed. No excuses. Download it now.
Camerabag — Cool effects for photos. It’s fun to play around with.
Bible — I feel awkward using this at church, but it’s got big readable text and tons of translations.
Mint.com — Good money app that ties in with [www.mint.com]Mint.com.
Flight Control — Don’t buy this app. It’s addicting, sucks way too much of your time and may result in throwing your iPhone through the wall.
Things — Well designed to-do list app. I mainly use this for making grocery lists.
